"I thank you, Lord, for giving me so many people and the opportunities to love. Grant that I do not fail them."

Karen Diane Dahl was born to Vernon and Margaret (Hogenson) Wold on September 14, 1947 in Decorah, Iowa. As a daughter of proud SE Minnesota farmers, she enjoyed the family farm, caring for 4-H animals. She talked about her amazing Christian family upbringing. She graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1965. Achieved her B.S. in Education from Winona State College. From there taught 4th and 5th graders in Rochester Public Schools her entire career and retired early in May of 2004, 33 years of Service.

Mom loved socializing with everyone. She enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, coffee with friends and making cards. She very much enjoyed running into and talking with former students which happened often. Has been a long-time member at Eyota Methodist Church. She has battled the "C" word before Stomach cancer which as a family we won that battle for 15 years had Quality of life. During that time, she very much celebrated life, wintering in Green Valley Arizona.

Sadly, to say mom lost this last battle with cancer of the pancreas. Which she fought valiantly till May 4, 2026.

She is survived by a daughter, Tracy Alexander of Eyota; son, Tony (Lisa) Dahl of Rochester; sister, Sandy Gordan of Spring Grove; brother, Arlo (Jay) Wold of St. Charles; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Celebration of life will be held at Faith United Methodist Church of Eyota, Mn. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior.

Memorials are suggested to Faith United Methodist Church of Eyota, Mn. or American Cancer Society.
